Houses built along seasides are a common sight in the rural areas in the Philippines being an archipelagic country. Usually, people who live in these areas earn a living through fishing and selling fish in the market. The painting respects the perspective of someone looking from a much higher location. While there are vibrant colors in the painting, it can be deduced from the way the houses were painted that they are flimsy, and the wall-to wall distance between houses suggests crowd and poverty.
