“The first time I met Ambassador Chito Sto. Romana was during the CIFIT in Xiamen, China way back in 2018. President Duterte appointed Sta. Romana, a veteran journalist who lived and worked in Beijing for decades, as ambassador to China in recognition of his deep knowledge of China’s history and people. I was saddened to hear about his untimely death on April 21, 2022.”
