Description

Born in Bohol in 1957, the multi-awarded artist Henri Cainglet defies convention. Despite lacking formal art schooling, he demonstrates remarkable skill in mixed media, whether in painting or sculpture. His abstract yet expressive art pieces resonate deeply, reflecting his beliefs, values, life experiences, and aspirations. Comprising rough, textured layers of paint and indigenous materials, his works provide a window into a rich and non-conformist life journey. Henri Cainglet is renowned for his “found-objects” art, encompassing paintings, sculptures, and soft pieces. Notably, he used art to bring hope to communities affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban and the earthquake in his hometown of Valencia, Bohol. Reference: https://henricainglet.weebly.com/
