Description

The painting by Filipino artist Marvin Baldemor, was part of the exhibit entitled “A Journey of Colors.” The exhibit featured 38 of Mr. Baldemor’s paintings at the Art Gallery of Le Yacht Club-Beirut, in Zaitunay Bay, from 7-15 June 2014. Most of Mr. Baldemor’s paintings focused on themes depicting traditional life and rural scenes in the Philippines. The depiction of Filipino life can be seen through the colorful drawings that are usually found in towns in the Philippines. Other cultural Filipino icons seen in the painting include jeepneys and kalesa, children playing the luksong tinik, and food that are sold in the streets where the vendor travels from town to town such as the sorbetes and taho.
