Batangeño Virgilio Cuizon is a 2-time Banaag Presidential Awardee for KUNST’s contributions to promoting Filipino talent and culture in Europe. In 1983, he embarked on a personal mission to support his fellow countrymen in Germany. This journey began with the co-founding and establishment of Barangay sa Alemanya (BSA). Over time, he went on to establish Barangay sa Europa and the Association Lending Assistance in Exigencies at Home (ALA EH). Through these organizations, he successfully executed a wide range of cultural, social, athletic, and charitable initiatives that strengthened the bonds and camaraderie among Filipinos residing in Germany. Currently, he holds the position of Managing Director at Kapatiran at Ugnayan ng Natatanging Sining at Talentong Filipino (KUNST Filipino), a Filipino organization in Germany dedicated to promoting and nurturing the talents of Filipino performing and visual artists, as well as students. |
